Each offers different benefits. Our hearing care providers will consider your specific needs and goals when helping you choose the right style and features for your situation and ensure that, no matter what style is right for you, you’ll get a comfortable fit and precise programming.

Outside the Ear Options

Receiver-In-Canal (RIC) aka Receiver-in-the-Ear (RITE) Hearing Aid

Receiver-In-Canal (RIC) Hearing Aid

RIC devices, typically smaller than Behind-The-Ear hearing aids (BTEs), are best-suited for mild to moderate hearing loss. The device’s casing is worn behind the ear, but the receiver is worn in the ear. These two components are connected to each other by a discreet wire. A small plastic or silicone piece, called a dome or a custom earmold, is attached to the receiver and is worn in the ear canal.

Benefits of RIC hearing aids from Colorado Ear Care

  • Latest technology
  • Natural sound quality
  • More discreet than Behind-The-Ear (BTE)
  • Noise reduction features
  • Rechargeability options
  • Bluetooth compatible
  • Smartphone compatible
Behind-The-Ear (BTE) Hearing Aid

Behind-The-Ear (BTE) Hearing Aid

The casing of a BTE device is designed to house the aids’ electronics and fit comfortably behind the ear. A small plastic tube is connected to the device on one end and to a standard- or custom-fit earmold on the other. BTE’s are a very flexible hearing aid, meaning that they can be used to support a wide range of wearers, from those with mild to even severe hearing loss. When power and adaptability is a must, this style of hearing aid can’t be beat.

Benefits of BTE hearing aids from Colorado Ear Care

  • Durable
  • Moisture resistant
  • Powerful amplification
  • Fits a variety of hearing losses
  • Noise reduction features
  • Rechargeability options
  • Bluetooth compatible
  • Smartphone compatible

Inside the Ear Options

Completely-In-Canal (CIC) Hearing Aid

Completely-In-Canal (CIC) Hearing Aid

Completely-In-Canal hearing aids are custom-fit devices that are best suited for people with mild to moderate hearing loss. They are often referred to as “invisible” hearing aids, due to their deep placement in the ear canal, which renders them almost impossible to see.

However, they do have a narrow fitting range. Not all ear canals are large enough to wear this style of technology. A small, discreet plastic handle is used for insertion and removal of the device.

Benefits of CIC hearing aids from Colorado Ear Care

  • Very discreet fit
  • Best suited for mild to moderate losses
  • Rechargeability options
  • Bluetooth compatible
  • Smartphone compatible
In-the-Ear (ITE) Hearing Aid

In-the-Ear (ITE) Hearing Aid

In-the-ear devices are worn just as the name implies: in the ear. These aids are custom designed to match the shape of your ear’s unique anatomy. They are larger than other custom fit devices, therefore are visible when worn, and can be used to treat mild to severe hearing loss.

Benefits of ITE hearing aids from Colorado Ear Care

  • Larger and visible
  • Fit a wide variety of hearing losses
  • Better battery life
  • Easy handling for those with dexterity issues
  • Better help in background noise because it can house two microphones
  • Rechargeability options
  • Bluetooth compatible
  • Smartphone compatible

One week no-risk hearing aid demo.

Studies have shown it takes people an average of 7 years to come in for a hearing evaluation after first noticing difficulty hearing. Together, we will pick a product to try and let you wear it for a week to see if it's right for you.

1. Diagnose

Detect if a hearing loss is present and explain your options based on your lifestyle.

2. Demo

All patients will be eligible for a free (no payment out of pocket) week demo of hearing aids.

3. Decide

After the free week demo, we'll assess if the hearing aids helped improve your hearing loss or tinnitus. If you decide you are not ready to trial hearing aids, simply return the demo devices.
